Dear friends,
We are journeying in the last week of June. The month set apart for our Mental Health awareness! See, whereas the year has 12 Months, you and I need one month to continuously remind ourselves that our Mental Health matters. Today, I would like us to think about the following:
- That, if you are 40 years and above, a Prostate enlargement test is a MUST. That if you are 50 and above an annual check is a requirement. Get into a convos with your health provider.
- That, it’s important to attend to your teeth the way we were taught as boys. Buy the right toothpaste, buy the right toothbrush and remember to replace the toothbrush every after 3-4 Months. Have you heard of mouth ulcers?- gotten because one was using a Napoleon era toothbrush?
- That, it is a requirement for you to smell good. It doesn’t have to be expensive – good is good enough. The days of letting that goat like smell announce you are way over
- That, it is important to put on the right boxers. They don’t have to be tight off the Tele Ad you watched. They must be spacious to keep your joystick and it’s eggs breathing.
- That, it is important to dress up comfortably. Not every potbelly looks good in a fitting shirt. We must allow our sons to thrive. We are not competitors. This goes to shirts, trousers and shoes.
- That, it is important to wear neat socks. Socks are cheap and easily available. Throw away the hole riddled things
- That, it is important to avoid UTI’s. Don’t go doing susu allover the place. You could pick up them infections that could end up hurting you.
- That, it is important to find out about your blood pressure and all it’s attendant tags. It’s your health. By the way, do you know your blood group?
- It’s important to keep a smile on your face and learn to have a laugh. We all know you are not Superman and the savior of the world. Smiles are infectious. Use them.
- That, it’s important to be honest with yourself as you carry your honest torch to others.
- That, it’s important to read a book. And am not talking pornography. A value addition book.
- That, it is important to cultivate friends. They don’t have to be many.
- That, it is important to forgive yourself, to renew your faith and as much as you can to live in peace with others
- It’s important to remember your God because you don’t belong to yourself. And neither do you belong to anyone else, but God alone.
- That ,it’s important to eat right, to keep the right weight and to Exercise. Quality food. Not Quantity.
Our physical beings play into our Mental Health. Our physical beings sometimes act as the playground for our Mental Health.
It’s Mental Health month. Let’s make it count.
